Marbelous Table Slight Misnomer, Actually Made of Wood
February 27, 2008

The Dutch design company Ontwerpduo has developed a fully functional table that features a marble track carved into the surface, legs, and feet. While developing a fully functioning table is a feat in itself, carving a marble track into it really shows some gusto. According to the Ontwerpduo website, the table is meant to be a way for the typically dull world of adults to be mixed with the playful tendancies of a child. I think this actually looks like a lot of fun and would have made childhood dinners with my family marbelous (get it, like the pun they used in the name of the table…that’s funny). I wouldn’t get one though. The whole mixing adult necessities with childhood naivety seems a bit too Neverland Ranch for me.
