Bamboo LED Lighting, Not Panda Approved
February 25, 2008

Sevcan Yardim, graduate of the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, designed this modular bamboo lamp. It is suposed to blend well with natural outdoor environments. The lights are energy-efficient LEDs, but still shine bright enough to light your path. Although I suspect that bamboo is not abundant in the Middle East, it is abundant in my back yard. I installed some of these and they blended quite well. That was, until my illegal pet pandas mistook the lamps for food. They ruined my outdoor pathway lighting, and Fluffy is still terrified of his only natural source of nourishment.
