“The Cloud” Distracts the Distractable

Designed by Troika, “The Cloud” is a digital sculpture that floats high in British Airway’s Heathrow Terminal 5, in the entrance to their luxury lounge. As you can tell from the video (below), it is a big cloud-like shape (hence, the name) that has 4,638 rotating dots (in case you couldn’t tell from the video, I counted for you), one side reflective, and the other, black. The dots are programmed to turn in a rotating set of patterns, making a display that is sure to grab the attention of the nearest attention-deficient (ADD) or acid-tripping druggie.
